The Wolfville Farmers' Market

One and Only New Location!

Wolfville Farmers' Market

On May 21, 2011 something big happened in Wolfville, Nova Scotia. Something that many in the community and surrounding area had been anxiously awaiting for quite some time. The 18 year old Wolfville Farmers' Market made the big step from it's former seasonal homes at the Robie Tufts Nature Centre and the Acadia Student Union Building to a permanent location in the old DeWolfe building at 24 Elm Street in Wolfville.

The new market will continue to be open every Saturday from 8:30am until 1pm. In addition, from May 23 through to Christmas, there will be a Wednesday evening market between 4 and 7pm.

A Growing Affair

Stewart's Organic Farm is the longest standing vendor at the Wolfville Farmers' Market. When Alan first started going to the market in 1993, there were only three other vendors. He would bring his red picnic table, organic produce and the Saturday Newspaper. Now, 19 years later, the paper has become a luxury of the past, while selling a wide variety of vegetables, fruits, berries, cider and specialty drinks.

The Wolfville Farmers' Market has expanded since that time to include over 60 farmers, artisans and chefs. It has become a community gathering that celebrates health and vibrancy through local meat, produce and value-added products, the creations of artisans and chefs, and live music from local talents. Thanks to the support of our community, the province and our market vendors, the Wolfville Farmers' Market has finally found it's own permanent home.
